Visiting a farm is an educational experience, as well as a fun one. Children will get to see firsthand where our food comes from and how it grows. They will also have an opportunity to go fruit or vegetable picking. Showing children what it takes to grow food will hopefully help them learn to waste less and appreciate more. Most area farms offer fresh produce and baked goods to purchase.
Time on a farm gives children a chance to interact and observe farm animals. Petting zoos and pony rides are becoming more and more of a staple. Compassion for other living things is a lesson we can teach our children while visiting with these animals. Letting our little ones interact with these animals gives them a hands on experience and a better understanding of how we should treat animals, what it takes to care for them, and how the animals play a part in farm life.
Fall on the farm can be an educational experience but it is also a FUN experience as well! Children will be free to run around in a spacious and safe environment. Corn mazes, hay rides, pig races, and straw slides are just some of the offered family friendly entertainment.
A trip to the farm in the fall will give you and the children time to soak up the last bit of sunshine before old man winter shows his hand!
