Our son has attended here for more than two years and he completely loves it. We do too. He skips in and out of the building, so content and happy. The teachers and staff are wonderful and the facility is immaculate. I can't imagine what they could do to make it better. - Russell, LOA Parent
Outstanding group of educators who believe in creating a culture of learning and growth with Christ-centered foundation. - Jim, Educational Consultant
I've got 3 children (4 mo, 3 yr, 4 yr) in Open Arms now and each one of them loves it. The team there makes me feel like they love my children as much as I do. They are friendly and accommodating. It's a very well-run (organized) facility, with great security features. The rooms and toys are clean and the programs they have for the children are engaging and fun. - Erika, LOA Parent
We've had children attend pre-school, and now after-school care, at LOA almost since they opened their doors. We could not be happier. Their staff is professional and capable. The leadership (Ellen - the Director) is top notch. Most importantly, our children love the place. They enjoy their friends and the staff equally. Many of LOA's staff have become extensions of our family...and know our children nearly as well as we do. We highly recommend LOA...and we are not alone considering LOA's consistently high rating in the annual "Best of Loudoun". Keep up the good work team! - Mike & Laura, LOA Parents
Please let my daughter's teachers know that we absolutely love them and Sofia had a blast her first week at Open Arms. It's unbelievable how much she has learned and the increase in her vocabulary in just a few short days! Open Arms has made the transition from at home daycare to school environment a whole lot easier for this Mama! :) - Megan, LOA Parent
I am happy with LOA. My son attended their preschool for two years then attended the summer camp program for one year. My daughter has spent 4 years in the summer camp program. There are many activities planned throughout the week, weekly field trips, swimming twice a week, as well as educational and entertaining shows that come to the center.
Both my children have food allergies, and my son has seizures and learning disabilities. I love that the staff are aware of the issues, take the time to adjust to their needs, and are trained to take care of kids with allergies.
Everyone who works there knows my kids by name. They welcome them every morning as they walk in the door and down the hall to their classroom, and say good-bye to them every night.
Prior to attending LOA, my children had limited exposure to a Christian environment. After attending LOA they have learned many things about the Bible, how to treat others in a kind way, and how to help others that are in need. The facility arranges many different activities throughout the year, like donation drives, to help those who are less fortunate.
"My two boys have been going to Open Arms since they were in the infant room. One is now in the private Kindergarten and the other in the 3 year old room. Both boys love to go to school...and quite frankly stall like crazy when it is time to leave. They always run to give me a hug but want to go back and keep playing!
They continuously seek feedback from their parents and have made positive changes based on recommendations; like improvements to the meals and snacks. Staff are friendly, open to suggestions, love the children and miss them when they are out.
We love the fun activities offered like beautiful artwork (our 'fridge is covered), chapel and great music thanks to Ms. Wendy. Lots of time to play outside and walks to the nearby park. Lots of fun seasonal activities, parties, programs and special visitors like magicians and animals. The curriculum and lesson plans for even the infants are detailed and keeps the children engaged and learning as they play.
One of my sons was sick often (the breast-fed one~ go figure!) as an infant the other was sick very little. Like any environment where there are a lot of children there is the potential for spreading germs. I think individual resistance plays a factor. I have seen staff taking appropriate health precautions at every developmental level. Having been exposed early on, the boys are rarely sick now (knock on wood).
I would definite recommend LOA to families looking for a warm, loving Christian care option." - Debra, LOA Parent
“We are very pleased with how much of a 'family' everyone is at the school. All of the teachers know my child by name and my daughter feels comfortable and safe there. I also love the communication between the school and the parents, and the weekly e-mails from the office staff as well. Her teachers are very nice.” – Courtney, LOA parent
We love Open Arms and my boys (4 and 6 1/2) have been attending for close to three years. It is truly like a second family to us. I go to work in DC knowing that my boys are extremely happy and well cared for. The teachers are wonderful and caring while teaching good values (not just academics), the meals provided are great, and rooms are bright and clean. The Director, Ms Ellen, is very thoughtful, the epitome of class and she has always been very understanding and accommodating to our needs. They also have a great playground with large field for running around, and special "music program with Miss Wendy" which my kids adore. I look forward to staying with Open Arms for after school care as well once my kids are in full-day public school. This daycare is absolutely worth a visit! - Christy, LOA parent
We have used the LOA Drop-In Service for this past year, as my job sometimes requires last minute notice and hours away from home. They have not only been able to take our 2 year old for the day at the drop of the hat, but it is evident that even though he is not a regular member of the class there, they always remember him and are so glad to see him. He often talks about going to "Monkey Class," and he names off the kids he plays with. Thank you, Open Arms, for providing as much quality care for the "occasional" child as you do the daily one! - Rebecca, LOA parent.
