We are recovering from a very busy week last week with all of our events and visitors during our Fire Safety Week and then capped off on Saturday with the Fall Festival and G.L.O.W. Night. I want to thank everyone who participated or helped us out this past week. All events were a success. Times like these bring us all together as a family.
The teachers and children did such a great job with the pumpkin carving last week! The pumpkins will still be at school but the children should be bringing them home some time this week. Check out our website soon for the pictures from Saturday's events.
I will have pictures from the week's events posted outside my office. We would like to put some of these on our website and Facebook page but we need your permission when they include anyone from your family. Please stop by my office and let me know; note that we do not use any names if we post pictures on our website or Facebook.
You can still purchase tickets for our Raffle Baskets; all drawings will be this Thursday afternoon, October 17th. Tickets once again are $2 each, 3 for $5.
Our theme this week is Fall Leaves and the weather is looking a bit better than last week. Hopefully, the teachers will be able to take the children on a nature walk to collect leaves. Also, the classes will be doing various leaf-related activities.
Our chapel lesson for this week is the Sunflower Parable, Ecclesiastes 3:1 "There is a right time for everything.
Everything on Earth has a special season".
Dates to remember for October:
- Monday, October 14th, is Columbus Day. LOA will be open but Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) will be closed.
- Friday, October 18th is Black Day; have your child wear or bring in something black.
- Parents Night Out is on Saturday, October 19th, from 4:00 to 8:30 PM.
Pictures from LifeTouch have been shipped and we should receive them early this week.
We have had quite a few new babies born in the last month who are siblings of LOA children. We send everybody our congratulations and blessings for their growing family.
A couple of our teachers are going through some illnesses and surgeries and will be out of the classroom for a short period of time - please keep them in your prayers.
