Monday this week is Presidents' Day. This week the children will be talking about the various Presidents from our history. In Chapel our Bible Verse this week is "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord" - Psalm 33:12.
We will be featuring the book for the older children (3's and above) "Praying With the Presidents" by Ron DiCianni. The book tells you that even great leaders need help from God sometimes. It brilliantly reminds Christians that our nation has been led by men of God from the start. By using the very words of each President as they express their views on prayer and confess their beliefs in God, Praying With the Presidents shows how America has a history of political heritage that is inseparably intertwined with its spiritual heritage.
Our second book which is more suitable for the younger children is "The Story of Ronald Reagan" by Patricia Pingry. President Reagan is emerging as perhaps one of the most popular US presidents of modern time, and this tells his story in a way toddlers and 2's can understand.
Our Valentine's Day parties are rescheduled to tomorrow, Tuesday, February 18th. check with your child's teacher for more information.

"While we are zealously performing the duties of good citizens and soldiers, we certainly ought not to be inattentive to the higher duties of religion. To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian."
