What a blessing to start the week off with sunshine and moderate temperatures! However, I know that something is brewing for later in the week, but let's not think about that now.
Our theme this week is Winter Windows. Each classroom is decorating one of their windows to depict a winter scene. They will be judged by our Schoolagers and on Friday we will have the result. Please stop by both upstairs and downstairs to see how all the windows have been decorated.
The object lesson for this week is the the uniqueness of a snowflake. All children will learn that they have been made in the image of God and are unique. They will also learn that we can work together in our uniqueness to accomplish the work of His Church.
We are still collecting soup cans for Porch Pals, a grass-roots effort supporting needy families in our area. We will have an area in the Front Lobby where you can drop your soup cans off. We are hoping to collect over 250 cans by the end of January. Thank you for your support.
Teachers are continuing their student assessments. Times for Parent Conferences will be set up for the weeks of January 20th and 27th. Check with your child's teacher for dates and times available. A sign-up sheet will be posted outside your child's classroom. Teachers will give you helpful information as you make decisions about your child's placement for next year.
Is your child going to go to Kindergarten next Fall? Find out about our Full-day and Extended-day Enrichment Kindergarten Programs we offer here at Leesburg Open Arms. Open House for interested parents will be Thursday, January 30th at 7:00 pm.

We end with "The Meaning of the Snowflake"
"Every new snowflake comes to the earth
as a picture of our Saviour's birth,
because they are sent from up above
and remind us of God's care and love.
Each one is so intricate and small
because Christ sees the details of us all,
and just as two are never the same
the Lord knows and calls us each by name.
Snowflakes gently cover the world in white
and hide what's unlovely from our sight,
showing us how He covers our sin
and gives us His grace when we come to Him.
So may every snowflake bring Christ to mind
and in every bit of white may you find
a reason to celebrate anew
and a reminder of His love for you."
